We’re very excited to be launching a brand new line of recyclable and biodegradable EcoTubs into our packaging range. Designed and produced especially for Songbird Naturals, these new tubs are made from sturdy reinforced cardboard with a beautifully smooth finish. While the quality of a product should always be more important than how its packaging looks, we were keen to create something that looked just as professional as our original plastic tubs. We think these EcoTubs will look striking on any therapist’s shelf.
As you’d expect from eco-conscious packaging, these EcoTubs are fully biodegradable and recyclable. They’re also 99.5% compostable (the only non-compostable element is a very small amount of PVA to prevent leakage). For anyone curious as to whether you can compost these EcoTubs at home: essentially, it depends what you’re happy to put on your compost heap. Because the PVA content is so small, it most likely won’t cause any harm. But, if you prefer to only put 100% compostable items on your heap, then we suggest recycling the tubs with your household cardboard recycling waste.
These EcoTubs are currently available in 100g pots. As a result, we’re very pleased to announce that we’re completely removing our 100g plastic pots from our packaging range, with all 100g waxes and balms only to be sold in EcoTubs. As part of our ongoing efforts to become completely plastic-free, we aim to expand this EcoTub range into a variety of sizes over time, and ultimately completely remove plastic pots from our packaging range.
We’ve tested these EcoTubs extensively for durability and leakage, so you can purchase with confidence. They’re thicker and sturdier than our original brown EcoTubs, and are less prone to oil staining. We hope that all of our customers feel these tubs live up to the quality that you would expect from a Songbird Naturals product.
